Annie Leibovitz

I had never heard of Annie Leibovitz before we watched the movie in class. I found her so inspiring. The vibe that she gave off was so pure, like she was doing everything she was meant to. She wasn't saying or acting or taking pictures of what she thought others wanted her to. I'm not a huge Beatles fan, but after seeing this photo and hearing the story behind it, I was blown away. Just added to my thought of Annie doing what she was meant to be doing in life.

Vivian Maier

This is a photographer who passed away in 2009 but whom captured some amazing stories of the world in black and white. She was a nanny who had lived in France and New York. Her photography is candid, black and white, and captured the "hussle and bussle" of rural and urban lives of this time period. Check her out!

Being "Based"

Lil B is a rapper, whom I've never actually listened to. I was hanging out with a couple of friends when I noticed them all call each other "based" or joking around saying that they were, "fake based". So finally, I asked what the hell was going on! My friend let me borrow this book, which when I glanced at it, thought, "this is something I will just be laughing at later on." When I finally started flipping through it, I realised that this rapper might actually be onto something good.

Based:
"Based means being yourself. Not being scared of what people think about you. Not being afraid to do what you wanna do. Being positive. When I was younger, based was a negative term that meant like dopehead, or basehead. People used to make fun of me. They was like, 'You're based.'
They'd use it as a negative. And what I did was turn that negative into a positive. I started embracing it like, 'Yeah, I'm based.' I made it
mine. I embedded it in my head. Based is positive." - Lil B

David Kingham

This is a photographer I found on Flikr. Anyone can take pictures of the outdoors, but I feel like David has a way of pulling the viewer in deeper. He always seem to find a great focal point for the picture, whether it be an actual object or his way with catching the perfect lighting. Check him out!

Zak Noyle

Zak Noyle is a photographer who works for Surfer Magazine and won the 2011 photo of the year. Check him out!
